A project that was very near and dear to my heart, this nursery belongs to my daughter Colbie. When we found out we were having a girl I immediately jumped into putting together mood boards and figuring out how I wanted her bedroom to look. I knew I wanted this special space to feel playful, a little whimsical, and have some feminine touches. I had dreamt of wallpapering the entire space and when I stumbled upon Rifle & Co’s Menagerie wallpaper in cream I knew I had found the winner. The colors in the wallpaper inspired the blush velvet curtains and forest green crib. I love mixing patterns and knew I needed to be strategic with how busy the wallpaper was but when I found the brown and white checkered shag area rug it felt like the missing puzzle piece. To help balance out the patterned wallpaper and rug I decided to opt for a light grey performance fabric glider for the nursery chair and sought out to find a french provincial inspired antique dresser. I love the curves and ornate gold hardware on the dresser - it added the subtle feminine touches I was looking for! Now that baby girl is here it is so fun to be able to use this space every day and see how much she loves to stare at her wallpaper and play on the rug. Photography by Emily Keeney.
