Our goal is to take the stress and overwhelm of a large construction project off your plate. How can I start working with you?

What are the benefits of hiring an interior designer?

We often suggest reaching out to a designer at least 6 months in advance if you are undergoing a medium to large size remodel. Our full service design process can take around 4-6 months depending on your scope. It is smart to assemble your contractor and design team (and architect if needed) around the same time to ensure everyone is on the same page. For furniture projects, it all depends on when you need your furniture by. Although lead times for furniture have started to correct, we are still seeing delays post pandemic. Depending on your furniture scope and how quickly you make decisions, it can take months to place orders for furniture. Custom furniture pieces take longer and we do have in-stock vendors so we have seen furniture arrive as quickly as a couple weeks or as far out as 12 months. How far in advance should I hire a designer for my project?

Kallan Interiors has a large catalog of preferred furniture vendors ranging from trade-only showrooms, local boutiques, and antique shops, to well known retail storefronts. Depending on a client’s budget, wants, and needs this is a discussion we have during the pre-booking phase to determine what works best for the client. The benefit of sourcing from trade-only furniture vendors is you gain access to products that are not available to the public. Trade-only furnishings are historically higher quality pieces compared to shopping retail. While shopping trade-only isn’t necessarily less expensive, Kallan Interiors receives special pricing on furniture allowing us to pass a discount on to clients. Furnishings from trade-only vendors will be purchased by the designer on behalf of the client and the entire order management will be handled by Kallan Interiors. This is considered the full-service furnishings experience. If clients are interested in purchasing furniture and handling ordering on their own Kallan Interiors will source from retail stores only.

Where do you shop for furniture?

Yes. Depending on the scope, location, and our current project schedule, we will travel for your project. Please be aware there are travel fees. Inquire to learn more and we can discuss logistics during our initial phone call.
