This one holds a special place for the studio — it's Kallan's own home. Warm, functional, and genuinely loved.
This tri-level home in Edmonds had good bones but a layout that wasn't working. The formal living room and dining room were closed off from the kitchen, leaving the family gravitating toward the basement living area and navigating stairs between the spaces they used most. After nearly six years in the home — and a growing family — it was time for a change. Walls came down to connect the entry, kitchen, and living room into one open flowing space, while the unused dining room became a dedicated home office. The result is a main floor that finally makes sense.
At the heart of the renovation is an eight-foot kitchen island paired with two-toned cabinetry in a chameleon blue-green hue, unlacquered brass hardware, zellige backsplash tile, and scalloped ceramic pendant lights. The sunken living room carries the warmth through with painted wainscoting, traditional millwork, and layered furnishings in rich browns, blues, creams, and pinks that feel collected rather than decorated.
Proof that good design can transform not just a space, but how you live in it.
