Favorite White Paint Colors
Picking the right white paint color for your home can feel very overwhelming! There are so many colors to choose from its hard to know where to even begin. Which is why we have rounded up our favorite and most used white paint colors to help narrow your search a little bit. We always recommend testing paint colors in your home before pulling the trigger since lighting plays such a big role. See below for why we chose each color and our recommendations for sheens.
Reasons why we these white colors stand above the rest…
Simply White by Benjamin Moore: It’s one of our most used white paint colors for good reason! This classic white bodes well in all sorts of lighting as it doesn’t come off as too creamy or too stark. In our opinion it’s one of the most perfect whites!
Snowbound by Sherwin Williams: Another fan favorite, Snowbound is similar to Simply White in that it doesn’t pull undertones of other colors. It’s a tried and true white that plays well with others.
Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore: I like to think Chantilly Lace is akin to fresh cotton. It is a crisp white without feeling too cold.
Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore: This paint color is full of creamy goodness. A cozy warm off-white without feeling too yellow.
White Dove by Benjamin Moore: A clean, classic white with a touch of creamy. A great balance between Swiss Coffee and Simply White.
Our recommendations for sheens:
WALLS: Eggshell is our go-to for walls. It has a very subtle sheen and gives just enough protection for busy households.
CEILING: Flat. Always flat unless there is some sort of wall treatment on the ceiling (like wood paneling) that calls for a sheen.
BASEBOARD + TRIM: We usually always go with a satin for baseboard and trim. It gives a nice, subtle contrast to the eggshell walls. In some cases will do a semi-gloss if we are trying to achieve a glossier look.
CABINETS: Same as the baseboard. We usually always go with satin but if for some reason we are wanting a higher gloss look for cabinets will go with higher gloss.
